J Camps Rituals and Traditions
Our days begin with spirit and song as we gather at the 昀氀agpole for Hatikvah, and
mealtimes are 昀椀lled with gratitude as we lift our voices for Hamotzi and Birkat
blessings. These rituals root our community in tradition while 昀椀lling each day with joy.
Starting and Ending Our Week
We kicko昀昀 the week with Havdallah- awakening our minds and bodies for a new week
of adventure. Fridays are magical at J Camps! We close out the week with an epic
camp-wide Shabbat dance party and song session, creating space to pause, re昀氀ect,
and celebrate the week together in gratitude and joy.
Jewish Values In Action
Every activity at camp is designed with Jewish values at its core. Each week we
spotlight a di昀昀erent value, bringing it to life through hands-on adventures, music,
games, and creative experiences that make learning meaningful and fun.
Mensch Moments
Our counselors are always on the lookout for “Mensch Moments”—those special
times when campers show kindness, integrity, or live out the week’s value. Every act of
goodness is celebrated, reminding campers how powerful it is to be a mensch!
A Taste of Israel
Through Israeli dance, music, art, sports, and cultural experiences, campers connect
with Israel in ways that engage all 昀椀ve senses. With our visiting Israeli sta昀昀, these
moments become more than just activities—they’re friendships and bridges that last
a lifetime.
